Norton pips local rivals in 450 run thriller
Silverstone and Greens Norton, back in the same division of the South Northants Cricket League after 3 seasons apart, finally clashed at Silverstone on Saturday. The home team batted first and looked likely to run away with things until Andy Payne was caught on the boundary for 97. They still finished, however, on a very distant-looking 224 for 7. The current Norton side seems to be made of sterner stuff than some of its previous versions and cruised to an 8 wicket victory with Boony scoring more than 70, Neil Taylor getting another 81 not out and Bod yet again contributing in the forties.
